BEYOND THE BODY

A JOURNEY OF BODY LOVE, ACCEPTANCE & TRANSCENDENCE

BUILD BODY-CONFIDENCE FROM THE INSIDE-OUT, BY NOURISHING YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM. EAT AND MOVE IN A WAY THAT BUILDS YOUR BODY UP, RATHER TAHN BREAKING IT DOWN

Does your body feel like an obstacle you need to overcome?

Perhaps it feels like you’re always trying to change how you look, and no matter what you do, that feeling remains - your body isn't 'good enough', skinny enough, muscular enough. It's something you need to 'fix' before embracing your life and all of the magical things it has to offer.

The body can be a challenging space for women, especially when everywhere we look we are presented with ‘perfect’ women, and lead to believe that looking like a super-model offers some kind of lasting solution to the discomfort we feel inside.

I have been there and I’ve supported 100’s of women who have experienced the same. And now i've popped the tools into an online program, so you can try them too!

I see you, and I know how you feel.

You might find it comforting to know that  over 73% of women feel this pressure to change the way they look. According to a nation-wide survey by the Butterfly Foundation;

  • Over 40% compare themselves to others on social media, and are unhappy with their appearance
  • 1 in 2 say their body look and shape is ‘pretty important’ compared to other things in life, and,
  • 50% avoid doing things they enjoy, because of the way they look.

So then we get stuck on

  • Starting diets and stopping again
  • Envying women on social media
  • Feeling triggered when we see thinner women ‘doing better’
  • Trying to shrink ourselves in every way possible
  • Exercising to the point of exhaustion and breakdown
  • Crying when we look in the mirror
  • Avoiding looking in the mirror at all
  • Chasing weight loss until we feel completely defeated

....and just generally believing that we don't 'look good' enough to achieve anything at all.

So, there is no point in even trying.

WHAT IF I TOLD YOU that you didn’t need to change your body, in order to feel better about yourself? And that;

  • Nourishing yourself will have a larger impact on body confidence than dieting will
  • Training for strength is an amazing tool for body confidence
  • You can change the way you look at your body with a few simple perception shifts (and a little education around where it came from!) and,
  • Shrinking yourself will not actually make you feel better about yourself on the inside (i've seen it happen a hundred times)

Sadly, when we are constantly worrying about how we look, we often miss out on the magic life has to offer.

This is why I've created this program - I want you to identify the root cause of negative body image, and give you some tools to begin your journey toward body love, and acceptance.

ABOUT ME

I have been a women’s health and fitness coach for over 20 years, gathering more wisdom with every year that passes by. I have worked with women in Australia and overseas, including both sports competitors, and everyday women.

After focussing purely on nutrition and training, and specifically body transformation, I recognised the limitations that changing your body can have on your long term health and confidence. The tools collected along the way are beneficial but body change is not the solution.

So after years of weight loss and strength training programs, I began supporting women on the underlying cause of their discomfort, eventually landing on:

  • Childhood adversity as a driver for negative body image
  • The role of media in ‘programming’ us to feel inadequate,
  • Creating safety in the body through nourishment, strength and stress reduction (achieved through nervous system regulation), and
  • Removing the idea that a perfect body will make our lives brighter.

Building body confidence has become less of a body change (although this is also supported when desired), but moreseo and inside-out approach aimed and deprogramming diet culture messaging, supporting women in finding safety, and changing perspectives around nutrition and exercise from one focussed on weight loss, to one focussed on building ourselves up, and taking up space.

I encourage all women to stop trying to shrink themselves, and start taking up space. Women are needed in this world and we are letting our perception of our bodies stand in the way!
